ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

The RaeRae of Light® organization is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit created by the Norris family in honor of their baby Reagan, who was born with a critical Congenital Heart Defect. Their mission is to raise awareness and fund research for CHD’s and to help other children born with this defect. In addition, they provide individual financial assistance and resources to families as they navigate the journey with their medically complex child. THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE PAINTING:

Every day I try to take walks out into the desert, to clear my head and find solitude from the day. Every day these walks show another aspect of the desert and a little more insight into finding joy and appreciation for the little things. As I walk I find Saguaros that really seem to come alive, full of personality and mystery. I try to capture each one and showcase it in a painting. Showing the beauty and magic of the desert. This pair reminded me of a mother embracing her child, I have walked past this pair many times, and when I learned of this foundation, I couldn’t think of a better opportunity to bring these two to life.
